Simple Inventory Manager ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data and inventory information are collected, used, stored, and shared when you use Simple Inventory Manager, including our cloud synchronization and collaborative features.

2. Data We Collect & How We Use It

Depending on how you use Simple Inventory Manager, we collect and process the following categories of information:

A. Account & Authentication Data

• Personal Identifiers: When you sign in (e.g., via Google Sign-In / Firebase Authentication), we collect your email address, display name, user ID (UID), and profile avatar URL.
• Purpose: To create and authenticate your account, enable secure cloud data synchronization, and identify you when collaborating on shared inventory lists.

B. Synced Inventory & Collaborative Content

• Inventory Data: Item names, categories, quantities, prices, low-stock thresholds, notes, and activity history.
• Sharing & Access Metadata: Identifiers of lists you own or join, member roles (Owner, Editor, Viewer), join codes, and timestamps of updates.
• Purpose: To synchronize your data across your devices in real time and allow seamless collaboration with other users you explicitly invite.

C. Automatically Collected Technical Data

• Device & Diagnostic Logs: IP address, device model, operating system version, and system event logs processed securely by our infrastructure for security monitoring, fraud prevention, and uptime diagnostics.

3. Data Storage, Cloud Synchronization & Third-Party Processors

Your inventory data is stored locally on your device for offline use and synchronized to cloud servers when connected to the internet.

We use trusted third-party service providers to power our cloud features:

• Google Firebase (Firebase Auth, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions): Provides user authentication, encrypted real-time cloud data storage, and serverless background operations. See Firebase Privacy & Security.
• Google AdMob: Serves advertisements within the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers, location signals, and usage data for ad delivery and personalization. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Billing: Handles in-app purchases and subscription transactions. Financial details are processed exclusively by Google Play. See Google Play Privacy Policy.

4. Data Sharing & Collaboration

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. Your data is only shared in the following circumstances:

• With Collaborators You Invite: When you share an inventory list or join a shared list, members of that list can view inventory items and see your display name and email address as a contributor.
• For Legal & Security Reasons: If required by law, subpoena, or to prevent fraudulent activity or protect system integrity.

5. International Data Transfers & European Economic Area (EEA/UK) Rights (GDPR)

If you access Simple Inventory Manager from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, your personal data is processed under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR.

• Legal Basis for Processing: We process your personal data based on Contractual Necessity (to provide account features, cloud sync, and shared list collaboration requested by you) and Legitimate Interests (maintaining app security and preventing fraud). Where applicable (e.g., personalized ads), processing is based on your Consent.
• International Transfers: Cloud data is stored on secure Google Cloud/Firebase servers located in the United States and other global data centers. Transfers outside the EEA are governed by Google's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and Data Privacy Framework compliance to ensure equivalent protection.
• Your GDPR Rights:
  • Right of Access & Portability: You can request a copy of your synced personal data.
  • Right to Rectification: You can edit your inventory and profile details directly in the app.
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated cloud data.
  • Right to Restrict or Object to Processing: You can sign out or stop using cloud sync at any time.

6. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your account and synced inventory data for as long as your account remains active. If you wish to delete your account and remove all personal inventory data from our cloud servers, please submit a deletion request to KBAppsDev@proton.me. Upon confirmation, your cloud records will be permanently erased.

7. Device Permissions

Simple Inventory Manager requests the following permissions:

• Internet Access: Required to authenticate users, synchronize inventory data with Firebase Cloud Firestore, manage shared lists, display ads, and process purchases.

8. Children's Privacy

Simple Inventory Manager is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us for immediate deletion.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. Updated policies will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
